Frequently Asked Questions
What is compounded GLP-1 medications?
GLP-1 medications are available as a prescription brand name products such as Wegovy® , Ozempic®*, Mounjaro®. On the other hand, the compounded forms is the unbranded counterpart that should only be available from a licensed compounding pharmacies.Â
What is the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are both injectable medications used for managing type 2 diabetes and weight loss management. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist, while Tirzepatide targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, making it more effective for blood sugar control and weight loss. Tirzepatide has shown greater HbA1c reductions (2-2.5%) and more significant weight loss (15-20% of body weight) compared to Semaglutide, which typically results in a 1.5-2% reduction in HbA1c and 10-15% weight loss. Both are taken once weekly, but Tirzepatide is newer and is more expensive.
What happens when I stop taking these medications?
We will give you the tools to maintain your weight loss as our service is a comprehensive weight loss program and not just a prescription.
What form of payments do we accept?
Typically we accept credit cards, Care Credit as well as some FSA/HSA cards.
How easy is injecting myself with Semaglutide or Tirzepatide medicine?
It is a very simple and almost painless procedure. We always say: "if an 85 year old person can inject themselves with insulin daily, you can easily do it once a week".
